Re-connection occurs when a customer water supply is turned on after a disconnection. This can either due to disconnection on request, non-payment, account superseding or upon regularisation due to illegal connections.
This attracts fees and penalties as stated in the Water Tariff.
A disconnection refers to cutting off supply to a customer due to non-payment. However, it can be as a result of illegal activities, theft and upon customer request.
This is when a customer requests for temporary disconnection of account.
The customer will fill a Request for Disconnection form DKR.
Disconnection is charged at a fee which will also serve as a re-connection fee during turn on.
This refers to change of contract details of the account holder and put details of the new account holder. This involves terminating the account then opening a new account by entering details of the purported new customer.
